Titus 2 PenPals is a discipleship-focused pen pal ministry based on Titus 2:4-8, which instructs the older men and women in the church to mentor younger Believers, helping them become grounded in a godly life that is above reproach.

It hits everyone at some time in their life. The big question. Why am I here? What is the purpose of my existence? I for one refused to let go of the question until I got an answer.After observing the seeming futility of human existence in the face of war and hatred and famine and disease, I became fiercely unwilling to acquiesce to the “just go along with it and don’t ask questions” mentality of the world. I was not created a lemming and I would not live my life as if I had been, fated to tumble off some unseen abyss into a nevernever land of meaninglessness. If there was no transcendent meaning to life, I did not want to live it. To do so would make life a sad joke played by a ridiculous excuse for a God. On the other hand, if God did exist, I was going to get an answer from Him on this most important question and, hopefully, fulfill what it was He created me to do.
Last newsletter, we dealt with the fundamental question of why evil exists. Now we want to examine what, in the face of evil, we are meant to do with our lives here on earth.
Let me start by briefly commenting on the question - “Where is God when I suffer unjustly?” Answer - “He’s in the same place He was when His Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was dying a horrific death on the Cross.” He was there, in the midst of the suffering, right beside Jesus, weeping along with Mary.Understand, that He was weeping. Understand the pain that a parent feels when they witness the suffering of their child. God the Father was going through a hell all His own during those moments, and the years prior to those moments when Jesus was falsely accused and attacked and called a fool and a devil.
I don’t think it would be accurate to say that God was incapable of intervening. Of course He was. He is God after all! But there was a bigger picture to that suffering than just the moments of pain themselves. Had not Jesus Himself earlier said: “The Son of Man must suffer many things . . . . He must be killed and on the third day be raised to life?” (Lk 9:22)
Rom. 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
One of the most blatant but casually dismissed strategies of Satan is allowing us to categorize and grade the activities and mindsets of the Flesh.
This means that some places we yield to our flesh we have decided are not really "that bad." It's just a little joke, a little curse word, a little insult, a little appreciation for "her beauty", a little gossip, a little disrespect, a little lie...
Those who categorize their participation with their Flesh this way are deceived and deluded in their understanding of the Flesh, and the Devil. Neither your Flesh or Satan are hindered by quantity or measurement.
If you attend church at all, you will undoubtedly hear a thousand sermons on “Be filled with the Spirit” (Eph. 5:18) for every one sermon you hear preached on “Be ye angry, and sin not” (Eph.4:26). This is a command! It is not a defense for a bad temper. It is not an excuse for an explosion of bitterness from your bruised ego for personal rejection. I am talking here of Holy Anger. God gets angry: “The anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses” (Exodus 4:14); “God is angry with the wicked every day” (Psalm 7:11). (If you must have a bumper sticker, try this last statement for a while -- but be sure that you increase your insurance before you do so.)

Every hero of the faith has had to make an ultimate choice to trust God with everything. They had to be willing to risk it all—their dreams, their fortune, their health, their reputation, their very life.Consider:

- Noah preparing the wood for an ark.
- Elisabeth Elliot staying in the jungle with her toddler.
- Ruth laying at Boaz’s feet.
INTRODUCTIONAnd today I would like to speak to you from the theme “Ten Shekels and a Shirt”, as we find it here in Judges Chapter 17. I’ll read the chapter and then I will read a portion also from the 18th to the 19th chapter as the background might be clear in our minds. “And their was a man of Mount Ephraim who’s name was Micah”. A little background if you please. There was a situation where the Amorites refused to allow the people of the tribe of Dan to any access to Jerusalem and they crowded them up into Mount Ephraim. It is a sad thing when the people of God allow the world to crowd them into an awkward position. So they were unable to get to Jerusalem and we find, out of this comes the problems that we are about to see.
St. Frances de Sales once wrote: “All the temptations of hell do not stain the soul who does not love them.” It’s a terrible moment when we discover that we love the things that God hates, and all the more horrible to realize that there’s nothing we can do about it except throw ourselves on the mercy of God. Thus God uses our plight to crucify our flesh. The only way to handle this insufferable condition is to embrace the humiliation of death to self and yield ourselves to God as vessels of God’s Spirit.It begins with receiving freely the grace of God through Christ’s work on our behalf and ends the same way. We never actually become self-contained agents of righteousness, but rather become containers of His righteousness. Galatians 2:20 says it plainly: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Paul later adds in Romans 6:6-7: “
